The ANC has already held a national list conference, with its national list committee currently vetting candidates before submitting the names to the Electoral Commission of South Africa (Iec) ahead of the national elections, expected to take place in May.
The Electoral Commission of South Africa (Iec) announced in a statement on Friday that it had approved election deposits for the 2019 national and provincial elections.
The ANC has laid an official complaint with the Independent Electoral Commission of South Africa (Iec) regarding the DA's controversial election billboard in Braamfontein, Johannesburg, EWN reported on Friday.
Of course, it is the Iec that should be doing this, not political parties.
[Business Day] The ANC has lodged a formal complaint with the Iec over the DA’s “The ANC is killing us billboard”.
WATCH: DA - The ANC is killing us The Iec’s chief electoral officer Sy Mamabolo says the matter of the billboard is before its national party liaison committee after the ANC laid a complaint.
The ruling party also accused the DA of spreading lies, claiming the party contravened the Iec electoral code and that it would take legal action.
In a strongly-worded response, the ANC accused the DA in a statement of spreading lies and claimed that the opposition party was in contravention of the Iec electoral code.
Mosery said the Iec welcomed campaigns like the DA’s and added that more of these - from organisations, state departments and traditional leaders - to increase voter registration among the young population were appreciated.
