Barely 48 hours to the conduct of the rescheduled Presidential and National Assembly elections, security agencies in Plateau State have conducted a show of force in the state.

Finally, he said INEC “faced attempts to sabotage its preparation” with the burning of its offices in Anambra, Abia and Plateau states.
“We alert Nigerians that the INEC chairman has been intimidated with threat of ‘Onnoghen’s treatment’ to accept a list of APC members and agents and post them to serve as EOs in various states including Kano, Kaduna, Rivers, Bauchi, Akwa-Ibom, Zamfara, Benue, Sokoto, Lagos, Plateau, Taraba, Borno, Adamawa, Kogi, Delta, Ebonyi among others.
Significantly, the three states – Plateau, Anambra and Abia – where arsonists burned down thousands of SCRs, ballot boxes, uncollected Permanent Voter Cards and other electoral materials have all received replacements.
“We will be working closely with other sister security agencies to ensure that the election went without hitches in the collective interest of all Nigerians.” Meanwhile, the new Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG, In charge of Zone 4 Command Makurdi, covering Benue, Plateau and Nasarawa states, Mr Chris Ezike, has taken over the Command.
Aside from the burning down of some of INEC’s offices in Abia, Plateau and Anambra states, last Saturday, 11 INEC vehicles meant for the elections were burnt in Obot Akara Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
“They were crammed into an eight-seater Alhambra Sedan vehicle with Plateau registration number, where they were struggling for space.
She said they were taken from Riyom, Plateau and were being taken to Ekpoma in Edo State.
These states include Jigawa, Plateau, Kebbi, Katsina, Yobe, Delta, Enugu, Sokoto, Lagos, Rivers, Cross River, Bauchi, Akwa Ibom, Adamawa, Taraba among others.
