China’s ‘Plan B’ for African debt

Choking on Chinese debt There is no official Chinese data on loans to African countries but, according to latest data from the China Africa Research Initiative at Johns Hopkins University which has been collecting, cleaning and analyzing data on African loans since 2007, the Chinese government, banks and contractors have extended US$ 143 billion in loans to African governments over the period.
