In September, it emerged that senior ANC MP Vincent Smith had been paid ‘‘at least” R670 000 by Bosasa over the past three years and had allegedly accepted security installations at his home valued at R200 000.
This list includes Gwede Mantashe, Nomvula Mokonyane, Thabang Makwetla, Dudu Myeni, Linda Mti, Mbulelo Gingcana and Vincent Smith.
News24 also previously reported that Van Zyl was instructed to deposit R276 667 cash into the business account of ANC MP Vincent Smith's company, Euro Blitz 48, on July 14, 2015.
ANC MP Vincent Smith, who has also been accused of benefitting from Bosasa's largesse, is a member of the portfolio committee.
This comes less than two weeks after ex-Bosasa executives Angelo Agrizzi, Linda Nti and Andries van Tonder were busted by the Hawks on corruption charges Former President Jacob Zuma, Minister Nomvula Mokonyane and MP Vincent Smith are some of the biggest names implicated in the Bosasa bribery scandal.
It is understood that people high up on the election list include controversial figures such as Bathabile Dlamini, minister in the presidency responsible for women; Nomvula Mokonyane, minister of environmental affairs; Vincent Smith, chair of several parliamentary portfolio committees; and Mduduzi Manana, a former deputy minister of higher education.
The ''VIP'' beneficiaries included ANC chairman and minerals resources minister Gwede Mantashe, whose security upgrades cost R300 000; environmental affairs minister, Nomvula Mokonyane; former South African Airways (SAA) board chairwoman, Dudu Myeni, who also chairs the Jacob Zuma Foundation; former prisons' boss Linda Mti; ANC member of Parliament (MP) Vincent Smith and Pretoria chief magistrate, Desmond Nair.
Former Bosasa employee Richard Le Roux testified earlier this month that he was tasked with installing security upgrades at various ministers' and government officials' homes, such as Mineral Resources Minister Gwede Mantashe, Environmental Affairs Minister Nomvula Mokonyane, ANC MP Vincent Smith and Makwetla.
They said Environmental Affairs Minister Nomvula Mokonyane, senior ANC MP Vincent Smith and Mantashe must be axed from their positions due to the allegations on Bosasa.
Let’s name them: It's believed Vincent Smith received R45,000 which then grew to R100,000 later; and it's reported fees fell for his daughter as the company paid R260,000 for her tuition fees.
