The National Sea Rescue Institute’s Craig Lambinon says: “It’s believed the female was swimming.
"The 13-year-old female, believed to be a disabled person, and the man aged in his 30's were transported to hospital by EMS ambulance in serious but stable conditions suffering non-fatal drowning symptoms," National Sea Rescue Institute’s (NSRI) Craig Lambinon said in a statement on Wednesday.
NSRI spokesperson Craig Lambinon said that when they didn't return by nightfall, the man's wife and friends raised the alarm and civilians on jet-skis launched a search party.
NSRI Wilderness duty crew were alerted at 9.45pm on Friday night to reports of a 45-year-old Cape Town man missing in the Swartvlei, the lake at Pine Lake Marina between Sedgefield and Knysna, NSRI spokesman Craig Lambinon said.
National Sea Rescue Institute spokesperson, Craig Lambinon, said the woman, 72, sustained lacerations to her head and fractures to her left wrist.
The NSRI's Craig Lambinon said: “There is all confidence that this dolphin will survive this ordeal.
"The dolphin was kept wet on the beach and then loaded onto a sea-rescue craft and transported 3km out to sea," said National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) spokesperson Craig Lambinon.
The dolphin was evaluated and found to be in a healthy state," NSRI spokesperson Craig Lambinon said.
In the first incident, which happened at around 14:40, a bystander rescued a local man from the water who appeared to get into difficulty after being caught in a rip current, according to NSRI spokesperson Craig Lambinon.
"At 17h15 NSRI Station 10 Simonstown and CMR (Cape Medical Response) responded to Buffels Bay following reports from TMNP (Table Mountain National Park) rangers of four people, three females and a male, being swept out to sea by rip currents," NSRI spokesperson Craig Lambinon said.
