These allegations surfaced during the testimony of former Bosasa COO, Angelo Agrizzi, before the Zondo Commission probing state capture in the country.

Bosasa has been strongly implicated in corruption during the Zondo Commission of inquiry into allegations of state capture, with its former chief operations officer Angelo Agrizzi and other employees testifying about its payment of bribes to senior government officials to win tenders.
Agrizzi has turned against Watson and Bosasa, now trading as African Global Operations, and has testified about the company's alleged decade of state capture before the Zondo Commission.
