President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is seeking a second term in office with Pdp candidate Atiku Abubakar his closest rival.
The former Vice-President, who spoke during a Pdp presidential campaign rally in Dutse, Jigawa State, said, “I will not disappoint you all.
But the Peoples Democratic Party (Pdp) and the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) accused the Federal Government and the All Progressives Congress (APC) of plotting to frame up key opposition leaders ahead of the February 16 presidential election.
Reacting to the seeming war of generals, Chief Olabode George, a retired commodore in the Nigerian Navy and chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (Pdp), has backed Obasanjo, insisting that the former president was compelled to make the remarks about President Buhari out of deep concerns and patriotism for the country, which he said he (Obasanjo) must have considered above military ethics of esprit de corps.
The present budget faceoff, according to some sources, flows from a bid to frustrate the governor from accessing financial capacity to fight back against the party during the forthcoming General Election by supporting the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, Pdp.
The Presidents-General of all 36 Udu communities of Delta State have pledged their support for the re-election of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, emphasising that Udu will mobilise fully to receive the governor as he flags off People Democratic Party, Pdp, campaigns at Otor-Udu, headquarters of Udu Local Government Area of the state, today.

Meanwhile, the electoral body has dismissed allegation by the Peoples Democratic Party (Pdp) that its Chairman, Yakubu, is being compromised to rig the presidential election in favour of the APC.
