According to environmental affairs minister Nomvula Mokonyane, there were 769 rhino poaching incidents last year.

On Tuesday, DA MP Phumzile van Damme took the opportunity during the debate to challenge Ramaphosa to prove his commitment to fighting corruption by suspending implicated ministers, including Gwede Mantashe and Nomvula Mokonyane.

"But I will never believe you until you fire [Minister of Environmental Affairs] Nomvula Mokonyane," Malema said.

They said Environmental Affairs Minister Nomvula Mokonyane, senior ANC MP Vincent Smith and Mantashe must be axed from their positions due to the allegations on Bosasa.

"We commend these commissions for the work they are doing, often under challenging circumstances, to uncover the truth," Ramaphosa said, to applause from the ANC benches, including Minister of Environmental Affairs Nomvula Mokonyane, who didn't have a Louis Vuitton handbag as part of her ensemble.

It is followed closely by questions about why ministers and government officials, including Nomvula Mokonyane and Gwede Mantashe, were not being charged.

The ANC drafted its list, which it hasn’t concluded yet, in January, The draft list, as far as we know, included the likes of former president Jacob Zuma and Nomvula Mokonyane.
