We will continue our campaigns – APC, PDP A report by the Hausa Service of the British Broadcasting Corporation, monitored in Kano, on Sunday, quoted the National Chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole and a Director in the Atiku Campaign Organisation, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso as saying the electoral laws allowed for campaigns to go on until 24 hours before polls.
Also, a campaign director of Atiku Abubakar Campaign Organisation, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, said on the same programme that since the election had been postponed, parties and candidates should be allowed to continue with campaigns.
In separate interviews with the British Broadcasting Corporation, the National Chairman of APC, Adams Oshiomhole; and Campaign Director of the Atiku Abubakar Campaign Organisation, Rabiu Kwankwaso, had said they would proceed with political campaigns.
Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso with his Kwankwasiyya Movement are doing the mibilization for Atiku, who literally shut down the ancient city with his campaign rally.
Some of them includes the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar; Senate President Bukola Saraki; Governors Samuel Ortom and Aminu Tambuwal of Benue and Sokoto States; House of Representative Speaker, Yakubu Dogara; and ex-Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso of Kano State.
He also described the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senatorial candidate for Kano Central, Sani Aliyu Madakin Gini, as Kwankwaso’s political stooge who cannot make any impact in the election.
The building, which was recently converted into a political office and is located around Chiranchi quarters in Gwale Local Government area of Kano State was reportedly burnt and property worth millions of naira destroyed.
Also speaking, the Senator representing Kano Central, Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso called on all eligible voters in the state to support Atiku and other party candidates to ensure the success of the party at the polls.
However, yesterday’s rally which was signposted by the defection of the immediate past governor of the state, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso from the APC to the PDP has now projected Kano as a state which could be hotly disputed.
He was accompanied on the visit by Senate President Bukola Saraki, who is the director-general of the Atiku campaign team; and a former Governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwaso, among others.
