A manager at Equity Bank has been fired following sexual harassment claims leveled against him by some interns made public on the company’s Facebook page.
, NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov 9 – Equity Bank has instituted new measures to guard against and prevent future occurrence of harassment at the work place after sex assault claims were made against one of its top managers.
It entailed concerns related to sexual harassment and or assault by staff and fellow interns during their internship at the Bank and the Equity Group Foundation.
A top manager at Equity Bank #ticker:EQTY linked to sexual harassment of interns has been replaced after accusations against him were made public in Facebook posts last month.
The manager, whose identity was not disclosed, is accused of making inappropriate advances towards female interns under the Equity Leaders Programme — which offers internships in the bank's branches and scholarships in top global universities.
